Tammy Hoffman was a member of the Emporia State University women’s softball team from 1983 to 1984 and a member of the Lady Hornet basketball team from 1982-85. She is best remembered for her standout play at catcher and third base on ESU’s 1983 and 1984 NAIA National Championship softball teams. In each season on the diamond she earned NAIA All-American, All-District 10 and All-CSIC?honors. A clutch performer, she earned NAIA National Softball Championship All-Tournament in each of her two seasons. She hit .353 during the 1983 tournament and knocked in the winning run against Kearney State in the semifinal game. In 1984. she duplicated the feat by driving home the game-winner against Missouri Western in the NAIA semifinals.
