Eddie Hamada played for the Emporia State University football team for two seasons (1951-52) after transferring to the Hornet program.  While playing as a linebacker/offensive guard, Hamada was twice named to the all-Central Intercollegiate Conference first team following his junior and senior seasons.  As one of the top offensive and defensive players on the squad, Hamada helped lead coach Fran Welch’s teams to a 12-6-1 record during those two seasons.  Hamada was named by Welch to his all-time "Dream Team."
