Rodee was a four-year letterman for the Hornets from 1948-51.   A standout offensive lineman and team captain in 1951, he was named to Fran Welch’s Dream Team at center.  The Emporia native was an All-Central  Intercollegiate Conference performer who helped the Hornets to three conference titles.  Following graduation, Rodee served as a teacher and educational administrator for  more than 30 years.  During that time he served as head football coach at Ellinwood High School from 1952-60.   He served from 1969 to 1991 as the Executive Director of Special Education for the Grant Wood Area Education Agency and is very active in his hometown of Cedar Rapids, Ia., with the Metro Youth Football program in which he has helped coach for the last six years.
