Kelly (McCammon) Murphy competed in track and cross country for ESU from 1982-86 and was an NAIA national champion in the indoor mile in 1986. A six-time All-American, McCammon Murphy was named ESU Student-Athlete of the Year and was an NAIA All-Academic performer. In 1982, she earned her first All-American citation by helping the 4X800 relay team to a third-place finish at the NAIA Outdoor Championships. In 1984, she finished third indoors in the mile and earned her first cross country All-American distinction. After winning her national title in the indoor mile, she finished fourth outdoors in the 1,500 meters and second nationally in the 3,000 meters in 1986. The Iola native finished her career with four District 10 records and three CSIC marks. She still holds ESU records in the 1,500 meters and 3,000 meters at the time of her induction.
