Vogelsberg was a four-time All-American in the javelin he set the Emporia State record at 245-03 as he won the 2006 national championship on his home runway. He was a three-time MIAA Champion and set the MIAA meet record at 232-10 as a senior. He still holds the MIAA and ESU record and ranks fourth all-time in NCAA Division II at the time of his induction.
