The Hornets were 40-4 winning the CSIC, KAIAW state, AIAW?regional and AIAW Division II national championships.  Their season included wins over current NCAA?Division I members Wichita State, Nebraska, Creighton, Kansas State, Kansas, Drake, Nevada-Reno and Portland State. The Hornets were 5-0 at the AIAW World Series, outscoring their opponents 13-3.
