Patricia "Trish" Roberts may be the finest women’s basketball player ever at ESU. Roberts played two seasons at ESU, including the school’s initial campaign in 1974-75. That year, Roberts averaged 23.1 points and 13.7 rebounds per game while leading ESU to a fourth-place finish at the National AIAW Small College Women’s Basketball Tournament. The next season, Roberts averaged 27.8 points and 12.7 rebounds per contest. For her senior season, Roberts transferred to the University of Tennessee and earned Kodak All-America Honors. She also was a member of the 1976 women’s Olympic basketball team and the third-leading scorer on the squad that captured the silver medal at the Montreal Games. Roberts has served on coaching staffs at Central Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and North Carolina. She was the head coach at the University of Maine for four years and was the head coach of the University of Michigan at the time of her induction. Roberts still holds ESU single-season marks for field goals made (305) and field goal percentage (64.3%).
