Bill Favrow was a three sport performer for Emporia State.  A three-time Central Intercollegiate Conference (CIC) champion in the shot put, he placed third in the nation in the shot in 1962. He set the then school record of 54-09.00 at the 1962 CIC Championships and still ranks fifth all-time at Emporia State over 50 years later. The Kansas City, Kan. native was as an All-CIC performer and four year letterwinner for the Hornet football team and lettered one year in basketball for the Hornets. After graduation he served as a high school coach at Argentine HS and Concordia HS before serving as assistant track and field coach at Kansas State for 11 years. After leaving coaching he was a successful businessman, serving as the president of FavCo Pizza, Inc. from 1978-2006.
