Peals was an honorable mention NAIA?All-American in 1973 and was ranked 4th in the nation in NAIA?in 120 yard hurdles. He set the school record in the 120 yard hurdles with a mark of 14.1 as a senior. A two-time conference champion in the hurdles, once in the RMAC (1972) and once in the GPAC (1973), he qualified to 1973 NAIA?indoor national championships semifinals. He was a four year letter winner for the Hornets.  He is currently a senior staff counseling psychologist with the Department of Veteran Affairs and has spent over 25 years working with disabled American veterans.
