April 14, 2021-Aren Trost is in second place and Clara Eilert is in fifth in their respective events after day one of the KT Woodman Multis at Wichita State.
 
Eilert has 2,736 points after four events of the heptathlon.  She had the best mark in the high jump as she cleared 5-5.25 (1.63m) in the second event of the day.  She was in the top ten out of 19 competitors in every event.  She ran a personal best of 15.65 in the 100m hurdles to open the competition.  After winning the high jump portion she had a mark of 30-9 (9.37m) in the shot put and ended the day with a person abest of 26.91 in the 200m
 
Audrey Phelps is in ninth place with 2,466 points after day one.  She had personal bests in every event with her best finish coming in the shot put where she went 33-0.25 (10.06m) to place sixth.
 
Kynzie Underwood scored 2,367 points to sit in 11^th place while Victoria Pettay is in 13^th with 2,338 points.
 
Trost had personal bests in four of five events on his way to 3,208 points after day one of the decathlon.  He opened up with an 11.70 in his first collegiate 100m, then had a PR of nearly a foot with a mark of 20-3.75 (6.19m) in the long jump.  The one event he did not set a personal best in was the shot put.  His mark of 40-6.25 (12.35m) was the best in the competition however.  He cleared 5-10 (1.78m) for another personal best in the high jump before wrapping up day one with his fastest 400m at 54.21 in the final event.
 
Competition will get back underway on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. for the men and 11:45 a.m. for the women.
