February 18, 2022-In the final performance before the MIAA Championships, the Emporia State track & field team will come home with three provisional qualifiers and 60 season's best performances at the Steve Miller Invitational and Arkansas Qualifier.

At the Steve Miller Invitational in Manhattan, Kan.
Travis Morrison moved up to #2 on the Emporia State all-time list with a mark of 56-10.25 (17.34m) in the shot put. He now trails only former national champions Al Feuerbach at 62-11.25 and Jason Stuke at 62-02.50 on the Hornets all-time list. As of Friday night he has moved up to #3 on the MIAA list this season and 15
th in the nation.

At the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark.
Megan McManis tied her school record, clearing 12-08 (3.86m) in the women's pole vault. She is currently ranked fifth in the MIAA and 24
th in the nation.

The 4x400m relay team of
Guy Ramos,
Juwan Johnson,
Jack Watson and
Hayden Goodpaster ran a season's best 3:15.11 to improve on their provisional qualifier. They are currently ranked fourth in the MIAA and 17
th in the nation.

Emporia State also had seven event champions at K-State. For the men
Josiah Driggers was a double winner taking the long jump and triple jump championships while
Chase Rooney won the 200m and
Carter Cox won the 400m.

For the women
Ashley Wildeman won the 200m,
Clarice Nichols won the long jump, and
Ashley Cookson won the triple jump.

The next action for Emporia State will be the MIAA Championships February 25-27 in Maryville, Mo. at Hughes Fieldhouse on the campus of Northwest Missouri.
