March 31, 2026-Due to the threat of inclement weather, there have been several changes to the schedule for Emporia State Athletics this weekend.
 
The ESU Midwest Classic Track and Field meet will now be held on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3 at Welch Stadium and Witten Track.  The decathlon, heptathlon and javelin throws will be held on Thursday with the rest of the meet scheduled for Friday.
 
The Emporia State men's and women's tennis duals with Neb.-Kearney have been moved to Monday, April 6 at the Kossover Family Tennis Center on the Emporia State campus. The women will begin play at 11:00 a.m. with the men to follow approximately one hour after the completion of the women's dual. The women's dual with Fort Hays State is still scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2.
 
The Hornets baseball series with Newman has also been moved from Wichita to the Trusler Sports Complex this weekend.  The first game is scheduled for Thursday, April 2 starting at 5:00 p.m.
 
The Emporia State softball games at Neb.-Kearney and Fort Hays State for this weekend are still on as scheduled.
