May 8, 2026-Emporia State had seven provisional qualifiers, three of which are season bests, at two different meets on Friday to start the Last Chance Weekend.

ESU LAST CHANCE MULTIS
Emporia State's
Isabella Davie and
Lou Dumas both eclipsed 5000 points to finish 1-2 in the heptathlon at the ESU Last Chance Multis at Welch Stadium.Â
Davie totaled 5165 points for the second most in Emporia State history behind Deandra Doubrava's 5394 points she set winning the 1999 NCAA Championship at Welch Stadium. She had person bests in five of the seven events over the two days. She won the final two events in career bests of 36.99m (121-04) in the javelin and 2:14.74 in the 800m. She is ranked 11th in the nation as of Friday night.
Dumas finished second with 5059 points to move into third all-time at Emporia State in the heptathlon. She had personal bests in four of the seven events, ending with a career best 2:32.67 in the 800m to move up to 14th in the nation as of Friday night.

WARD HAYLETT INVITATIONAL
The Hornets had five provisional marks at the K-State Ward Haylett Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. on Friday.
The men's 4x100m relay team had their best performance of the season, running 40.39 to win the event and move to 24th in the nation as of Friday night.
Israel Domeh finished second with a provisional time of 21.07 in the men's 200m.
Emmanuel Dukpe was sixth with a provisional mark of 46.97 in the men's 400m.
Connor Deters went 17.11m (56-01.75) in the men's shot put to finish second.
Stella Agbokpah had the only individual championship at K-State, running a provisional time of 24.07 in the women's 200m.

There are two more days of potential qualifying meets before the selection deadline on Sunday night. The #25 ranked Hornet men and #34 women will now send athletes to the PSU Almost Last Chance Invitaitonal on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kan.
