May 21, 2026-Emporia State's heptathletes led the charge for the Hornets on a rainy day one of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Welch Stadium and Zola Witten Track.

Lou Dumas is in 11th place after four events in the women's heptathlon with 3021 points. Her best performances were in the two running events as she was clocked in 14.35 in the 100m hurdles to start the day and finished the day with a personal best of 25.06 in the 200m.  Isabela Davie is in 16th with a total of 2817 points.

Emmanuel Dukpe finished 19th with a time of 47.80 in the men's 400m prelims.

Ezekiel Seamster was 18th in the 100m with a time of 10.67 in the prelims.

Stella Agbokpah false started in the women's 100m.

Emporia State will be back in action on Friday with Dumas and Davie in day two of the heptathlon,
Israel Domeh in the prelims of the men's 200m, Agbokpah in the prelims of the women's 200m and the prelims of the 4x400m relay.
NOTES
There were two facility records set on Thursday.
The Tusculum women's 4x100m relay team of Qitarah Castlin, Shanice Cox, Kori Moore, and Jahzara Hart ran 44.15 to break Abilene Christian's Welch Stadium/Zola Witten Track record of 44.17 set by Hermin Joseph, Amara Ezem, Mary Tombiri-Shiri, and Revoli Campbell at the 1995 NCAA Championships.
Hillsdale's Allison Kuzma ran 33:43.47 to break Florence Uwajeneza of West Texas A&M's facility record of 34:14.47 set at the 2024 NCAA Championships.Â
