April 23, 2026-Emporia State sent a group of athletes to Hays, Kan. on Thursday for the Alex Francis Classic and came back with three event champions and 11 top three finishes.

Lou Dumas ran 14.21 to win the women's 100m hurdles. Her time of 14.21 moved her past Deandra Doubrava's time of 14.22 at the 1999 MIAA Championships for third all-time at Emporia State.

She was joined by
Scarlett Begley,
Ava Markley and
Isabella Davie to run 4:06.51 and win the 4x400m relay.

Mason Bina finished second in a time of 2:18.68 in the women's 800m while
Alexia Lewis went 5.63m (18-05.75) to place second in the long jump.

Emmanuel Dukpe ran a provisional qualifying time of 47.50 to win the 400m to highlight the men's action.

Max Neeley cleared 4.71m (15-05.50) to finish third in the men's pole vault.

The next action for Emporia State will be the MIAA Championships May 1-3 in Pittsburg, Kan.
