Agbokpah Named MIAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week for Emporia State

Freshman broke school record and had two provisionals last week

February 10, 2026-Emporia State sprinter Stella Agbokpah has been named the MIAA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week presented by Beynon.
 
Agbokpah had two provisional qualifiers and a school record on Saturday at the Bearcat Invite in Maryville, Mo. She broke her own school record with a time of 24.06 to place second in the Invitational 200m.  It is the top time in the MIAA and ranked sixth in the nation. The freshman added another provisional time in the prelims of the 60m. She ran 7.63 to tie her own second best mark in ESU history before finishing sixth with a time of 7.66 in the finals.
 
The Accra-Adenta, Ghana native is the top ranked women's 200m runner in the MIAA this season and is ranked sixth in the nation in NCAA Division II.
 
The Hornets are back in action this weekend at the 11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic. Field events begin on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with running events slated to start at 3:00 p.m. at the Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kan.
