January 30, 2026-Emporia State had two provisional qualifiers and two people move into the top five on the ESU all-time performance list during Friday's action at the WU Open in Topeka, Kan.

Stella Agbokpah ran a provisional qualifier of 24.51 to place seventh in the women's 200m. It is the second fastest women's 200m in Emporia State history behind her own school record of 24.43 set earlier this season. She also qualified for the semifinals of the 60m with a time of 7.64 which is just .01 second behind her previous best of 7.63 that ranks second all-time at ESU.

Barbara Bentum became just the fifth Emporia State women to break 25 seconds in the 200m. Her time of 24.99 was good enough to place 22nd on Friday. She will also advance to Saturday's semifinals in the 60m dash after running 7.72 in the prelims.

Alyana Wallace cleared 1.55m (5-01.00) to place sixth in the women's open high jump.

Ezekiel Seamster had a provisional qualifier of 6.81 to advance to the semifinals of the men's 60m dash. He also ran 21.77 to place 20
th in the men's 200m.

Ty Anderson won his heat of the 60m in a time of 6.83 to advance to the semifinals on Saturday.

Dylan Hunter ran the fourth fastest indoor 5000m in Emporia State history. His time of 14:44.44 moved him in front of ESU Hall of Honor member Ireland Sloan who ran 14:44.47 in Winnipeg, Canada in 1962.

Jaxon Russell finished seventh in the open high jump with a mark of 1.84m (6-00.50) while
Shane Karajanis cleared 4.35m (14-03.25) to place seventh in the men's open pole vault.

Luke Grace was eighth after clearing 3.85m (12-07.50) in the pole vault.

Emporia State will wrap up the WU Open on Saturday beginning with the men's shot put at 2:30 p.m. The first action on the track for the Hornets will be the semifinals of the men's 60m at 3:10 p.m.
