August 22, 2025-The MIAA released the Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll and Emporia State is slated for sixth place. It is the highest preseason ranking for the Hornets since 2014.

The Hornets picked up 69 points to tie Northwest Missouri for sixth in the preseason coaches poll. Four of the five teams in front of Emporia State advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Emporia State will return three starters from last year's squad that went 17-10, their first winning season since 2014. The Hornets 17 wins were the most in a season for ESU since the 2013 season.

Brailee Bogle and outside hitter
Camilla Ossola both return after earning honorable mention All-MIAA honors last year.
Mia Frisbie is the other returning starter and she led Emporia State in blocks with 93 from her position in the middle.

The regular season will open with a trip to the West Coast on September 4-6 for the San Diego Invitational. The Hornets will open the season against Point Loma on Thursday followed by games against Cal State San Bernardino on Friday and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday. The home opener is set for Friday, September 26 against Missouri Western in White Auditorium.
