Midfielder Preview for Emporia State Soccer

August 16, 2025-Emporia State brings back four midfielders with starting experience from last season.
 
Mikhaela Goen is in her third season at Emporia State. She has started 13 of 20 matches in her career and scored her first goal at Neb.-Kearney last year.
 
Madeline Bracy is in her second year with the Hornets.  She started 15 of 17 matches as a true freshman and scored her first goal in a win over Missouri Southern.
 
Hailey Gancarz is in her second season with Emporia State.  She played in 17 matches with four starts last year and scored a goal against Rogers State.
 
Megan Jeremias is in her second season with the Hornets after transferring from Murray State. She played in 16 matches and had two starts last season. She scored three goals last season.
 
The Hornets will begin exhibition play on Sunday, August 17 with a friendly at Butler CC.  Kick-off is set for 7:30 pm in El Dorado, Kan.  The regular season kicks off on Thursday, September 4 at Drury in Springfield, Mo.
 
Midfielder Notes
There is one senior, one junior, four sophomores and three freshmen among the midfielders.
Six of the nine defenders started their careers at Emporia State.
Two defenders are from Missouri, two are from Texas, with one each from Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, Canada and England.
