October 26, 2025 - Emporia State soccer took on #12 Central Missouri in a back-and-forth battle at the rain-soaked ESU Pitch on Sunday afternoon, but the Hornets fell 1-0 against the Jennies.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The match began as a stalemate between the Hornets and Jennies, with neither generating a shot through the first 18 minutes.
Ella Favot and
Madeline Bracy both forced a save by Kristen Wright in the 19th minute, and Central Missouri's first shot came in the 22nd minute, sailing high above the frame. The first shot on target for the Jennies came in the 37th minute, forcing a save by
Mackenzi Goen.

The score remained 0-0 heading into the halftime break. Following the break, the first opportunity happened much quicker, with
Abby Bachman forcing a save by Wright in the 47th minute.

Central Missouri's breakthrough came in the 63rd minute, as a penalty was awarded to the Jennies and Ryann Clark converted, putting Emporia State behind 1-0. Emporia State withstood multiple chances over the final 27 minutes, with the help of
Mackenzi Goen in goal who made three more saves, but the Hornets were unable to generate any more chanes of their own, as they fell 1-0.

Emporia State tallied just four shots with three attempts on goal, while Central Missouri had ten shots and six on goal in the match.
