May 16, 2021-Emporia State had three provisional qualifiers highlighted by
Travis Morrison becoming just the third Hornet to go over 60 feet in the shot put at the Loper Twilight II Last Chance meet in Kearney, Neb. on Sunday.

Morrison threw 60-3.75 (18.38m) to join Al Feuerbach (65-0 at the 1970 AAU Championships) and Jason Stuke (61-10.5 at the 1998 Drake Relays) in the 60 foot club at Emporia State. He moved up to seventh in the nation at the conclusion of the meet with some other last chance meets still to report. It is his seventh meet with a provisional qualifier and second straight in which he has gone over 18 meters.

Alyssa Conway won the women's hammer with a throw of 182-6 (55.63m) to hit another provisional qualifier. It is the seventh time in seven meets this year that she has hit a provisional mark and the sixth straight in which she has gone over 180 feet. Her best throw this season is her school record mark of 189-1 (57.63m) at the Drake Relays. She is currently ranked tenth in the nation.

Jazmin Williams had the other provisional qualifier for Emporia State at Kearney. She went 19-3.50 (5.81m) to place fifth in the long jump. It is her second straight meet with a provisional qualifier after going 19-9.75 (6.04m) at the MIAA Championships to rank 15
th in the nation.

Madison Runnion cleared 5-4.25 (1.63m) in the women's high jump. Her season's best of 5-7.75 (1.72m) at the Drake Relays had her tied for 18
th in the nation.

The Hornet men had four personal bests on the track in Kearney.
Jamill Phillips finished second with a time of 22.45 in the 200m.
Hayden Goodpaster finished third at 48.06 while Phillips ran 49.19 to place sixth in the 400m. Josh Reuting ran 2:05.86 to place 13
th in his first career 800m.
Kyle Barber placed fifth in the men's long jump at 22-11.25 (6.99m) to round out the Hornets in Kearney.

Emporia State will now wait to see who qualifies for the NCAA Division II Championships scheduled for May 27-29 at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
