September 30, 2017- Emporia State volleyball fell in straight sets to #18 Central Missouri Saturday. The Hornets fall to 9-8 on the season, 2-3 in the MIAA.
The #18 Jennies were in control from the beginning of set one, finishing it off with a score of 25-15. Set two saw five ties and two lead changes but was ended in similar fashion with a score of 25-18 in favor of Central Missouri. The Hornets battled for some of the third set but were unable to get back into the match and fell 25-19 to finish the match. The Hornets were led by Yuchen Du with nine kills, followed by Tatum Graves with seven and Jamie Hauptman with five. Du and Emma Dixon led the Hornets with 13 assists each. Allie Maloney led the Hornets with 17 digs, joined in double digits by Julia Joseph with ten.
The Hornets will be back in action on Tuesday, October 3 as they travel to Wichita, Kansas to face Newman University.
