October 28, 2017- Emporia State volleyball fell Saturday in four sets to #7 Nebraska Kearney. The Hornets fall to 13-13 on the season, 5-8 in the MIAA.
The Lopers controlled set one from the start and finished the set with a 25-19 win. Set two belonged to the Hornets from the start after an 8-1 run to open up the Hornets finished the set with a 25-22 win. The Lopers took control again in sets three and four to finish the match with wins of 25-20 in set three and 25-21 in set four.
The Hornets were led in hitting by Jamie Hauptman with 17 kills on .298 hitting percentage followed by Jordan Evans with 16 kills and Karly Patton with 14 kills. Yuchen Du led all players with 51 assists as she played primary setter for the Hornets in the match. Allie Maloney led all players with 27 digs while Kylie Acebedo joined her in double digits with 10.
The Hornets will be back in action Sunday October 29 as they face Fort Hays State in William L. White Auditorium.
