Brooke Flewelling has earned Louisville Slugger/NFCA DII Player of the Week honors after hitting three home runs with eight RBI in four games last week.
Flewelling hit .667 with a 1.750 slugging percentage and 2.515 OPS with three home runs, two doubles, a triple, eight runs scored and eight RBI in four games for the Hornets last week.
She was three for four with two home runs, four runs scored and three RBI in Emporia State's 15-4 win in game one at Neb.-Kearney.  She followed that by going two for four with a triple, a run scored and an RBI in the 5-3 win in a 5-3 win in game two against the Lopers. She went  two for three with a homer, a double, two runs and three RBI in ESU's 15-7 win in the matinee at Fort Hays State. In the nightcap against the Tigers she had an RBI double and came around to score in the first inning, and was walked in her next three plate appearances - seeing only one strike in 13 pitches.
Her 14 home runs this season leads the MIAA and rank third on the Emporia State single season chart and her 29 career homers are tied for fourth on the Hornet career list. She is leading the MIAA in slugging percentage and home runs this season.
She is the first Hornet to be named NFCA National Player of the Week since Danielle Sprinkle in May of 2018.
The next action for Emporia State is scheduled for Friday, April 10 at Central Oklahoma.
