Flewelling Earns NFCA All-Region Honors for Emporia State

Junior from Holton, Kan. named second-team All-Region at third base

May 15, 2026-Emporia State softball's Brooke Flewelling has been named Second-Team All-Central Region by the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) at third base.
 
Flewelling led the MIAA and is ranked tenth in the nation in home runs per game as she led the Hornets to the semifinals of the MIAA Softball Tournament. The junior earned Second-Team All-MIAA status at third base after being named honorable mention last season. She hit .346 with 16 home runs, eight doubles, four triples and 43 RBI. She ranks fourth in the MIAA in slugging percentage, fifth in total bases, sixth in triples, and tenth in RBI. She is also 15th in the league in assists from the hot corner.

Her 16 home runs this season rank third and her .748 slugging percentage is tied for fifth on the Emporia State single season list while her 31 career homers are fourth all-time for the Hornets. Flewelling was named the Emporia State Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
 
The NFCA awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2026 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
 
Flewelling earns the 58th NFCA All-Region honor for Emporia State since joining the NCAA and it is the second in three years.
 
The Hornets finished the season 29-18 and advanced to the semifinals of the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.
