May 26, 2026- The Emporia State softball team had five players recognized as Academic All-District performers as selected by College Sports Communicators.
Elina Bartlett,
Avery Brewer,
Kinsey Perine,
Izzy Sloan and
Brynley Smith were all named CSC Academic All-District for their work in the classroom.
Bartlett is a junior outfielder with a 3.68 GPA in business. The Cheney, Kan. native hit .315 on the season with a .355 on base percentage.
Brewer is a junior infielder with a 3.68 GPA in health and human performance. She was an honorable mention All-MIAA performer at first base. The Jenks, Okla. native hit .325 with nine home runs and 37 RBI on the season.
Perine is a sophomore outfielder with a 3.92 GPA in nursing. The Rossville, Kan. native hit .303 with 21 runs scored.
Sloan is a junior pitcher with a 3.56 GPA in physical education. The Indianola, Iowa native was 18
th in the nation with four saves and had a 3.67 ERA on the season.
Smith is a sophomore infielder with a 3.87 GPA in business. She was an honorable mention All-MIAA performer at second base. The Wichita, Kan. native hit .296 on the season with a .410 on-base percentage.
To be nominated, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played
or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances
or pitched 35 innings.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially supported financially by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the program.
