SATURDAY IN THE AIR CAPITAL
Emporia State travels to Wichita for an MIAA doubleheader against Newman on Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
The Hornets traveled to the Show Me State for a nonconference doubleheader against Drury in Springfield. In game one against the Panthers, the score was knotted at 1-1 through two innings, but Drury put together a four-run third frame which proved to be the difference. Emporia State got RBI from Brynley Smith, Ally Miller and Sydney Wagner but came up short, dropping the first game 5-4.
In game two, the Hornets scored four in the second and five in the third on their way to a 9-0 lead and eventually a 10-3 win in game two. Sydney Wagner, Taryn Burkhardt and Avery Brewer all drove in multiple runs while Wagner, Burkhardt, Brewer, Brynley Smith and Addison Callaway all had multi-hit games.
