The Emporia State women's tennis team travels to Edmond, Okla. this weekend for the ITA Fall Regional Championships hosted by Central Oklahoma.
Emporia State will be one of 18 NCAA Division II programs from across the Central Region, including all ten MIAA schools competing at Edmond Center Court.
Action begins on Friday with the first wave of singles play set for 8:00 a.m. with the first doubles match set for 5:15 p.m.
The Hornet women went a combined 13-10 at last week's Washburn Invite to start the fall season. Giulia Russu captured the Purple Draw Consolation Final with a 3-5, 4-1, 1-0 (10-8) win over Pratt CC's Emma Guzman.
Yuliya Klimova also won a consolation final, taking the final in the Blue Draw. She defeated Northwest Missouri's Laura Prieto Sieiro 4-2, 2-4, 1-0 with the deciding set going 26 points with Klimova winning 14-12.
The next action for the women's tennis team will be a home dual against Minnesota State-Mankato on September 27 at the Kossover Family Tennis Center. The next action for the Hornet men's tennis team is scheduled for September 26-28 at the ITA Fall Regional in Topeka, Kan.
