September 12, 2025-The Emporia State women's tennis team will get the fall season started this weekend at the WU Invitational in Topeka, Kan.
Emporia State will be joined by the host Washburn along with Northwest Missouri, Missouri Western, Southwest Baptist, Seward CC and Pratt CC.
Action begins on Friday with the first wave of doubles play set for 9:00 a.m. with singles scheduled to start at 10:15 a.m..
The Hornet women have three returners led by all-MIAA performers
Giovanna Ferreira and
Yuliya Klimova along with MIAA A-Game Scholar
Sheriden Wichman.
The next action for the women's tennis team will be September 19-21 at the ITA Fall Regional in Edmond, Okla. The next action for the Hornet men's tennis team is scheduled for September 26-28 at the ITA Fall Regional in Topeka, Kan.
The Emporia State tennis team will not be the only team in action in the Capital City this weekend as the Hornet volleyball team is also competing in Topeka at the WU Invitational.
