Emporia State Cross Country Releases 2025 Schedule

July 8, 2025-There will be a mix of old and new this cross country season for Emporia State as the Hornets have released the 2025 schedule.
 
The harriers will open up with the ESU Alumni Run exhibition on Friday, August 29 at Champions Landing in Emporia. The evening run will be followed by dinner for the team and alums at Champs Landing.
 
The Hornets will open the regular season on Saturday, September 6 at the JK Gold Classic at the Clapp Golf Course in Wichita, Kan. The men are set to run a 6000m course with the women to run 5000m starting at 8:00 a.m.
 
After a nine year absence, Emporia State will travel to Lincoln, Neb. for the second straight year when they compete in the Greeno-Dirksen Invitational on Saturday, September 20. The races start at 10:00 a.m. with the women scheduled to run 5000m with the men set to run 8000m at the Mahoney Golf Course.
 
The Hornets will make their first regular season trip to the MWSU Cross Country Course on Saturday, October 4 for the Griffon Invite.  Competition starts at 10:00 a.m. with the women running 5000m and the men set for an 8000m run.
 
For the first time since 2021 Emporia State will head west for a meet at Fort Hays State. It will be the first time the Hornets will compete at the Rolling Ridge Cross Country Course. The FHSU Open will be on Saturday, October 11 starting at 9:15 a.m. with the men running 8000m and the women covering 5000m.
 
The MIAA Championships will be in Pittsburg, Kan. for the first time since 2013. Races will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men running 8K and the women 6K race on Saturday, October 25 at the Four Oaks Golf Course.
 
NCAA Central Regional will return to Joplin, Mo. on November 8 and the NCAA National Championships are set for Kenosha, Wis. on November 22. The distances move up for NCAA post season competition with the men running 10,000m and the women at 6000m.
