November 8, 2025-The Emporia State women placed 22nd and the men 23rd at the NCAA Central Regional Cross Country Championships in Joplin, Mo.

Mason Bina led the Emporia State women with an 89th place finish in a time of 22:58.13 over the six kilometer course.Â
Emma Bartholome ran 23:28.05 to place 121st and was the second Hornet finisher.Â
Brooklyn Nolte was the third finisher for ESU with a time of 23:45.14 to finish in 135th place.Â
Heidi Grimmett ran 24:39.76 to place 169th and
Valyrie Freeman was 174th in a time of 24:55.88 to round out the Hornet scoring.Â

Treyton Laurance was the top finisher for the Hornet men with a time of 32:39.75 to place 67th on the ten kilometer course.Â
Carson Fouard ran 34:27.07 to place 139th as the second placer for ESU.
Lucas Kreutzer ran 34:33.82 to place 143rd and was followed by Elijah Edwards who ran 34:35.04 for a 147th place finish.Â
Gage Chapman rounded out the scoring for Emporia State with a time of 35:12.09 and 166th place finish out of over 200 runners.
