Emporia State Track & Field Sending Largest Group to NCAA Championships Since 2017

Nine men and one woman to represent Emporia State in Pueblo, Colo.

May 13, 2025- Emporia State will be sending its largest group of competitors to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships since 2017 with ten Hornets set to go to Pueblo, Colo. on May 22-24. Nine men have qualified in seven events while Abigael Reid Harelson will be the lone woman representing Emporia State at the National Championships.
 
There will be two Hornets competing in the men's javelin with both of them ranked in the top seven nationally.  Freshman Kole Manley is ranked fifth with a throw of 70.21m (230-4) at the ESU Relays while sophomore Brooks Lowe is seventh in the nation after throwing 69.16m (226-11) at the MIAA Championships. This will be the first trip to the national championships for Manley and the second for Lowe.  Lowe placed ninth at the 2023 NCAA Championships in Pueblo.
 
Jonah Remsberg is ranked eighth in the nation in the decathlon. The sophomore scored 7,033 points at the Jo Meaker Classic.  This is his first trip to the outdoor national championships after placing 11th in the heptathlon at this year's indoor national championships.
 
Ty Anderson will be competing in two events at the Thunderbowl. He is ranked ninth in the nation in the 100m after running a school record 10.17 at the ESU Relays. The junior went 7.44m (24-5) at the ESU Relays to totie for 20th in the nation in the long jump.
 
Max Neeley is tied for 14th nationally in the pole vault. The sophomore cleared 5.08m (16-8) at the Loper Twilight.
 
Emmanuel Dukpe will be in one individual race and one relay as a freshman for the Hornets.  He ran 46.56 in the 400m at the Concordia Twilight to rank 15th nationally.  He then anchored the 4x400m relay to a school record time of 3:07.89 at the Loper Twilight that moved the Hornets to sixth in the nation. Dukpe will be joined on the relay by Bryson Turner, Israel Domeh and Braden Lipgens.
 
Reid Harelson is ranked 21st in the nation in the 400m hurdles for the Emporia State women.  The senior ran 59.95 on her way to the MIAA Championship in the event.
 
The group of nine Hornet men is the third largest group of men going to the national championships from the MIAA behind Pittsburg State's 23 and Northwest Missouri's ten.
 
Action for Emporia State will start with the first event of the championships with Remsberg competing in the decathlon starting at 10:30 a.m. (MT) on Thursday, May 22.  The Hornets could then be represented in the final event in Pueblo if the 4x400m relay qualifies for the finals on Saturday night at 9:05 (MT) p.m.
