March 28, 2025-Emporia State began the outdoor portion of the track and field schedule with six top four finishes in the ten events the Hornets competed in on Friday at the ESU Relays.

Luke Gleason had the top individual finish, running 4:01.09 to finish second in the men's 1500m.

Aaron Quillen cleared a personal best 4.63m (15-2.25) to place third in the men's pole vault.
Â
Treyton Laurance was fourth with a time of 33:58.21 in the men's 10,000m.

For the women
Mason Bina ran a personal best of 4:54.71 to place third in the 1500m.

Savannah Stewart cleared a personal best bar of 3.42m (11-2.50) to finish third in the women's open pole vault.

Madison Vermetten was fourth with a personal best of 50.88m (166-11) in the women's hammer throw.

The ESU Relays will wrap up on Saturday starting with field events at 11:00 a.m. with the running events scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.

NOTES:
Pittsburg State's Dapriest Hogans broke a 23 year old Witten Track/Welch Stadium record with a time of 20.13 in the men's 200m. He bettered former United States Olympian and Barton CC Cougar Tyson Gay's stadium mark of 20.21 set at the 2002 ESU Twilight Qualifier.
