Box Score March 16, 2025-Every Emporia State starter had a hit and either scored or drove in a run in the Hornets 8-0 run rule win over Saint Michaels in The Spring Games in Leesburg, Fla. With thunderstorms in the Orlando area Emporia State's final game of the weekend against Purdue Northwest was canceled.

Taryn Burkhardt led off with a single and quickly stole second.
Sydney Wagner followed with an infield single to send Burkhardt to third before stealing second. A passed ball allowed Burkhardt to score and put Wagner on third.Â
Juliana De Luna made it 2-0 with an infield single.

After a scoreless bottom of the first by
Jayda VanAckeren,
Haley Garnett led off the bottom of the second with a triple and scored on a
Kinsey Perine single. Perine stole second and came home on a Burkhardt to give the Hornets a 4-0 lead.

Emporia State added four runs in the bottom of the fifth. With one out
Mallory Moore singled and scored on a double by
Karli Wehunt.Â
Brooke Flewelling drove in Wehunt with a single to left to make it 6-0.Â
Leslie Ramos singled before Garnett delivered a two run double give the Hornets an 8-0 lead.

Taryn Burkhardt went three for four with a run and an RBI and
Haley Garnett went two for three with two RBI and a run scored to lead the balanced ESU offense.Â
Jayda VanAckeren picked up the win allowing just one hit in 3.0 shutout innings.
Gracie Rabe tossed the final 2.0 allowing one hit.

The Hornets will return to action next weekend with a pair of key MIAA double headers starting on Saturday, March 22 at Missouri Southern and wrapping up on Sunday, March 23 at Pittsburg State.
