Top Three Finish for Emporia State's Luke Grace at Pre-Holiday Multi

Junior hits a provisional qualifier in first heptathlon of season

December 13, 2025-In a competition that saw the top six finishers hit a provisional qualifier Emporia State's Luke Grace finished third with 5095 points in the heptathlon at the Colorado Running Club Pre-Holiday Multis in Colorado Springs, Colo.
 
Grace started the day with a personal best of 8.59 in the 60m hurdles to maintain second place overall.  He cleared 3.90m (12-089.50) to place sixth in the pole vault and drop into third place entering the final event. He ran the 1000m in 3:02.02 to place sixth and hold onto third place overall.  His 5095 points will have him ranked in the top five of the nation after conversions for altitude and track size.
 
Luke Hampl finished in 13th place with 4013 points while John Henry was 16th with 3431 points.
 
The Hornets will now go into the semester break and not return to action for six weeks when they travel to the Bob Teel Invitational in Columbia, Mo.
