November 15, 2025 – The MIAA released the seeds and schedule for the 2025 MIAA Volleyball Tournament that will take place at Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo., and Hornet volleyball will be the fifth seed in their third consecutive appearance.
Emporia State is the fifth seed in the MIAA Tournament and will take on fourth-seeded Central Oklahoma on Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m., the final match of the day. The Hornets and Bronchos met in their second to last match of the regular season, with the Bronchos edging past the Hornets in five sets.
For Emporia State, their appearance in the MIAA Tournament is their third straight in all three seasons under head coach
Ken Murczek. The Hornets went 21-6 in the regular season, which is the most wins since Emporia State won 21 in the 2011 season.

12:00 PM – No. 2 Missouri Western vs. No. 7 Pittsburg State
2:30 PM – No. 3 Washburn vs. No. 6 Central Missouri
5:00 PM – No. 1 Nebraska Kearney vs. No. 8 Fort Hays State
7:30 PM – No. 4 Central Oklahoma vs. No. 5 Emporia State
