May 11, 2024-Emporia State had two provisional marks out of four competitions at the Loper Twilight Qualifier on Saturday night in Kearney, Neb.
 
Abigael Reid ran a provisional qualifying time of 1:00.86 to finish second in the women's 400m hurdles.
 
Xavier Hall was clocked in 14.14 in the men's 110m hurdles to place second.
 
Carter Cox was the other competitor for Emporia State in Kearney.  He was 11th in the men's 200m with a time of 21.37 while finishing 16th in the with a time of 10.66 in the 100m.
 
The Hornets and the rest of the nation will now wait until Tuesday, May 14 for the announcement of the field for the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held at Welch Stadium and Witten Track on the Emporia State campus.  The championships will get underway on Thursday, May 23.
