Emporia State travels to the Sunshine State for a pair of matches against #25 Tampa and Eckerd.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hornets began the 2023 season with a pair of matches against 2022 NCAA Tournament teams, Southwestern Oklahoma and Minnesota State. Emporia State played to a 1-1 draw against the Bulldogs before drawing 0-0 against the Mavericks.

Bryan Sailer is 107-82-31 in his 12th season at
Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history and fifth winningest coach in MIAA history. He has a career record of 166-105-33 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to nine straight .500 or better regular seasons, six straight MIAA Tournaments and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
Erin Switalski is 56-48-21 in her ninth season at Tampa. This is her first meeting against Emporia State.
Luke Sheekey is 7-6-4 in his second season at Eckerd. This is his first meeting against Emporia State.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS

ABOUT TAMPA
The Spartans went 6-6-5 last season and have started the 2023 season 2-0 with a pair of shutout victories. The Tampa attack is led by Tali O'Leary who has two of their three goals this season after transferring from the University of Rhode Island. As a team, the Spartans have tallied 29 shots with 14 shots on goal while allowing just 16 shots and six shots on goal from their opponents.

This is the first meeting between the Hornets and Spartans.
ABOUT ECKERD
