Three provisional qualifiers for Emporia State at Gorilla Classic

February 11, 2023-Emporia State had three provisional qualifier and four top ten finishes at the Gorilla Classic on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kan.
 
Travis Morrison just missed a personal best with his provisional qualifying mark of 17.40m (57-1) in the men's shot put.  He finished sixth overall in the event.
 
Megan McManis had a provisional qualifier of 3.73m (12-2.75) to place eighth in the pole vault.
 
The foursome of Jack Watson, Guy Ramos, Brock Merz, and Hayden Goodpaster picked up the other provisional qualifier for Emporia State.  They combined to run 3:16.97 and finished ninth in the 4x400m relay.
 
Emma Seidl had the other top ten finish for Emporia State. Her mark of 12.26m (40-2.75) was good enough for tenth in the women's shot put.
 
Emporia State will split their squads next weekend with some athletes going to the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark. and some going to the Steve Miller Open in Manhattan, Kan.  Both meets are scheduled for Friday, February 17.
