Emporia State will host the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three season as they will take on Fort Hays State in the first round.

THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 119-87-34 in his 12th season at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history and fifth winningest coach in MIAA history. He has a career record of 177-110-36 that includes coaching four years at the community college level. He has led the Hornets to nine straight .500 or better regular seasons, six straight MIAA Tournaments and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
Tyson John is 23-7-9 in his second season at FHSU. He is 1-1-2 against ESU.
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 12-5-4 on the season and finished 8-2-1 in the MIAA. The Hornets clinched their second MIAA Tournament championship in the past three seasons. Emporia State ranks top five in the MIAA in points, goals and assists this season.
Mackenzie Dimarco is leading the MIAA with 19 goals on the season as she was unanimously named MIAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Hadlie Lowe has six goals while
Hannah Woolery and
Anna Burnett both have four of their own. The Hornet defense is anchored by

Aubree Blackman. Westcoat has played all 1890 minutes so far this season. In midfield along with Woolery,
Angela Palmer has started all 21 matches and is fourth on the Hornets with 17 shots.
ABOUT FORT HAYS STATE
The Tigers are 13-4-3 on the season and finished the regular season with an 8-2-1 record. Fort Hays State fell to Central Missouri 1-0 in the MIAA Semifinals and meet the Hornets for the second consecutive season in the NCAA Central Regional. Fort Hays State is led in attack by Hannah Mares and Allison Worley who both have eight goals this season and have combined for over 50 shots on goal this season. Three more Tigers have scored double-digit goals this season. In defense, seniors Reilly Madden and Emily Hutchings have anchored the backline and have played all 20 matches in front of senior goalkeeper Isabel Robben who has played all 1800 minutes this season and has recorded 12 shutouts on the season.

Fort Hays State leads the all-time series 9-6-8 with the Hornets taking the only postseason meeting between the two last season.
