WINTER WEATHER WOES
Emporia State will travel to Topeka for a pair of doubleheaders after winter weather cancelled the ESU Classic. The Hornets will take on Quincy and Missouri-St. Louis on the Washburn campus.
LAST AT BAT
The Hornets traveled to Bentonville, Ark and faced a difficult five-game slate which included preseason number one Texas-Tyler. Emporia State went 1-4 and took home an 7-3 win over Upper Iowa.
THE COACHES
April Huddleston-Rosales is 154-155 in her seventh year as the head coach at Emporia State.
Carla Passini is 106-144 in her seventh year as head coach at Quincy.
Amanda Scott is 144-94 in her sixth year at Missouri-St. Louis.
ABOUT THE HORNETS
The Hornets are 4-6 on the season following back-to-back tournaments in Arkansas. The Hornet offense has been led by
Brittanie Shepherd,
Maddy Broxterman and
Alexis Dial with Shepherd leading the way with a .594 batting average that includes and on-base percentage of .649 and a 1.462 OPS. She has tallied six extra-base hits and totaled 7 RBI through the first ten games for the Hornets. When it comes to pitching for Emporia State, Sydney RIghi and
Gracie Rabe are leading the way from the circle. Righi has posted a 2.03 ERA through 20.2 innings of work. Rabe has had simiilar start with a 1.62 ERA in 13 innings in the circle.
ABOUT THE HAWKS
Quincy has started the season 0-3 after playing their first games at the Alvy Early Classic in Bentonville, Ark. Similar to the Hornets, they also faced #1 Texas-Tyler last weekend in what was a difficult game. The Hawks offense is led by a trio of batters wiith averages over .250. In their final loss at Alvy Early, their three runs were scored off the bat of Mykah Hurley when she notched a three-run homer against Pittsburg State.

Emporia State won the last meeting 5-1 which took place at the Trusler Sports Complex last season.
ABOUT THE TRITONS
Missouri-St. Louis has started the season 1-1 after splitting games with Wayne State and Arkansas Tech at the Alvy Early Classic. The Triton offense has been paced through two games by Morgan Barnoski and McKenzie Lamos.
