WINDING DOWN
Emporia State plays their final four regular season games in Oklahoma with games at Rogers State and Northeastern State.
LAST AT BAT
Emporia State fell to Missouri Southern in two tightly contested games in Joplin, Mo. on Monday. The Hornets lost 4-3 in the first game and 6-4 in the second.
The Hornets tied game one in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by
Kelsey Phillips, the left the bases loaded in the top of the seventh. The Lions scored an unearned run on an error, sac bunt and walk off single in the bottom of the seventh.
The two teams matched each other fun for run through the first five innings before MSSU scored two in their last at bat to get the win in game two. ESU again left the bases loaded in the top of the sixth with the score tied.
THE COACHES
April Huddleston-Rosales is 148-147 in her sixth year as the head coach at Emporia State. She served as an assistant for seven seasons. She was a member of both the Hornets national runner-up teams in 2006 and 2008. She is 0-2 against Rogers State and 5-4 against Northeastern State.
Andrea Vaughan is 164-133 in her sixth year as head coach at Rogers State. She is 2-2 against Emporia State.
Clay Davis is 227-214-1 in his ninth year as head coach for the RiverHawks. He is 9-9 against Emporia State.
