BACK IN THE MIAA
After stepping out of conference for one game, Emporia State is back into MIAA play for a three game series in Maryville, Mo.
LAST AT BAT
Emporia State trailed Wayne State by nine runs twice and came back to post a 19-18 walk off win over the Wildcats on Wednesday. The Hornets led 7-4 when the Wildcats scored seven runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to take a 16-7 lead. ESU scored six runs in the seventh as the Hornets trailed 18-15 going to the ninth.
Noah Geekie gave the Hornets the walk off win with a homer to left for a 19-18 victory. Geekie was four for six with four RBI and three runs scored while
Cooper Minnick went four of five with four RBI, three runs, a double and a homer.
Alex DeBey tossed 1.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
THE COACHES
Seth Wheeler is 43-34 in his third season as the Hornets head coach. He is 2-4 against Northwest Missouri.
Darin Loe is 528-520 in his 22nd year at Northwest and 684-671 in his 28th year as a head coach. He is 29-51 against ESU.

SERIES HISTORY
The Hornets lead the all-time series 64-40 after taking two of three last year. Prior to that the Bearcats had won six of seven with the lone Emporia State win a 15-2 run rule win in the 2018 MIAA Tournament.
LAST AT BAT AGAINST NORTHWEST MO.
Emporia State pounded out 13 hits to take a 2-1 series win over Northwest Missouri with an 8-6 victory in game three on a Sunday afternoon at the Trusler Sports Complex in what would prove to be the last baseball game of 2020 for the Hornets. Alex Debey took the win for the Hornets after entering in relief to give him his second win of the season.
Drew Repp went 5.0 innings giving up just one run on four hits while striking out four.
Connor Hurst went two for five, including the go-ahead homer in the seventh inning, and two RBI.
UP NEXT
The Hornets begin a nine game home stand on March 12 when they play host to Central Oklahoma. First pitch of the single nine inning game is set for 3:00 p.m.
