November 4, 2017- Emporia State volleyball fell in straight sets to #19 Central Missouri (26-24, 25-12, 28-26). The Hornets fall to 6-9 in the MIAA with the loss.
In a match that saw 21 total tie scores and eight lead changes, the Hornets battled to the end with the Jennies. Set one had 11 tie scores and six lead changes and the Jennies took the win 26-24 over the Hornets. In set two, the Jennies took control early allowing only three tie scores and finishing the set 25-12 over the Hornets. In set three the Hornets battled back, forcing seven tie scores and two lead changes, but the Jennies took the set in extra points at 28-26.
The Hornets were led by Jordan Evans with nine kills followed by Yuchen Du, Karly Patton and Jamie Hauptman with seven each. Du led the Hornets with 25 assists and 11 digs to record another double double for the season. Julia Joseph joined her in double digits with 11 digs as well followed by Allie Maloney with nine and Jordan Evans with eight.
The Hornets are back in action Sunday November 5 as the face Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo.
