Box Score September 20, 2015-The Hornets fell to Ft. Hays State 3-2 in their return to the ESU Pitch on the Emporia State campus on Sunday afternoon. 

SCORING MACHINE
The Hornets took a 1-0 lead on an Amelie Heun goal just 7:04 into the match.  After the Tigers took a 3-1 lead she would score her second goal of the game and seventh of the season with 9:15 left to pull the Hornets within 3-2.  Her seven goals in six games ranks fourth on the Emporia State single season scoring list.

KEY MOMENTS
Ft. Hays State tied the game and took the lead in the span of 27 seconds in the first half.  The Hornets were called for a foul in the box that resulted in Hannah Smith converting a penalty kick at the 33:46 mark of the first half.  Just 27 seconds later Cassi Mooseburger connected from about two yards out after a scrum in front of the Hornet goal to give FHSU a 2-1 lead with 10:47 left in the opening period.

INSURANCE GOAL
The Tigers got an insurance goal with 12:27 left in the match on a Kylee Loneker goal from right in front of the goal.  It would prove to be the game winner when Heun scored her second goal of the match with 9:15 remaining.

NON-CONFERENCE CONFERENCE MATCH
This was one of three matches against MIAA opponents that will not count in the MIAA standings.  The "countable" match will occur when the Hornets travel to Hays on October 25.

UP NEXT
The Hornets begin MIAA play on Friday, September 25 when they travel to Central Missouri.  Kick-off in Warrensburg, Mo. is set for 7:00 p.m.
