LIONS AND TIGERS AND...  
The #13 Hornet softball team plays their final regular season games at Lindenwood and Lincoln. A sweep of the four games will guarantee the top seed in the MIAA tournament for Emporia State, as the Hornets hold the tiebreaker with Central Oklahoma.

LAST AT BAT
Emporia State's Eryn Stockman held Southwest Baptist to just four hits with no walks and five strikeouts in the first 8.0 innings but the Bearcats scored three runs in the ninth for a 3-0 win.

THE COACHES
Julie LeMaire is 119-41 in her third season at Emporia State. She was named MIAA Coach of the Year after going 20-0 in the MIAA in her first year. She is 211-117 in her sixth season as a head coach. She came to Emporia State after three years at Ft. Hays State.
Don Loberg is 232-217 in his ninth year at Lindenwood.
Nicole Stacey is 60-159-1 in her fifth year at Lincoln.

ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 39-10 on the year, 19-3 in the MIAA, ranked #13 in the NFCA National Poll and first in the NCAA Central Region.  The Hornets are ranked second in the MIAA with a .969 fielding percentage. They lead the MIAA and are ranked second nationally in double plays. Emporia State is third in the MIAA in pitching with a 2.85 team ERA. Kaitlyn Caston is leading the nation with 28 wins on the season. The Hornets are fourth in the league in team hitting with a .310 batting average. Stephanie Goodwin is leading the conference in doubles with 15 on the season, while Taylor Zordel is second in stolen bases with 26.

ABOUT THE LIONS
Lindenwood is 18-25 on the season and 10-12 in the MIAA.  They are tenth in the MIAA with a 4.21 ERA.  The Lions are batting .273 and have a .950 fielding percentageto rank 11th in the conference in both categories.

SERIES HISTORY
Emporia State leads Lindenwood 3-1 with all four games being shutouts for the winner.

LAST TIME AGAINST LWU
Karley Schmelzer tossed 11.0 shut out innings on Sunday but Emporia State could only muster a split with Lindenwood at the Trusler Sports Complex.  Emporia State won game one 8-0 in six innings before falling 2-0 in game two.

ABOUT THE BLUE TIGERS
Lincoln is 6-35 on the season and 0-22 in the MIAA, having lost 33 straight in conference since a 4-3 win over Mo. Southern last year. They have a .223 team batting average, 8.30 team ERA, and a .939 team fielding percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
The Hornets have never lost to Lincoln and lead the all-time series 20-0 after winning three games last year.

LAST TIME AGAINST LU
The Hornets got a run-rule win and an extra inning win in a sweep of Lincoln.  Emporia State won the first game 8-0 in five innings and the second 5-4 in eight innings.

UP NEXT
The Hornets will head to Overland Park for the MIAA Tournament on May 1-3. They will open at 6:00 p.m. on May 1 with their second game to follow at 8:00 p.m. Emporia State has won seven of the last nine MIAA Tournaments and played in eight of nine championship games.
