February 9, 2014-Kaitlyn Caston got two hits and recorded her second win in the circle as Emporia State defeated Harding 5-1 on Sunday in Stephenville, Texas.
Andrea Piezuch got the Hornets on the board with an RBI single to drive in Sydney Owens in the bottom of the third. Laura Seeman made it 3-0 Hornets with a two run homer in the bottom of the fourth. Emporia State added two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth to wrap up their scoring.
Caston went the distance in the circle, not allowing a run until the seventh inning. She scattered seven hits but did not allow a walk while striking out one to pick up her second win.
Seeman and Caston were both named to the All-Tournament team.
Monday's action has been canceled due to the forecast of rain and ice in the Stephenville area. The Hornets are set to be back in action this weekend at the 8-State Classic hosted by Ark.-Monticello in Bentonville, Ark.
