February 21, 2014-The #25 Emporia State softball team opened play in the Kelly Laas Invitational with a 2-0 victory over host St. Cloud State in the Husky Dome. It was the second shutout of the season for Kaitlyn Caston.
With one out in the first Stephanie Goodwin singled to right center and Jessica Gragg reached on an error. Taylor Reichard singled in Goodwin for a 1-0 lead. Gragg would later score on a passed ball to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead.
It would be more than enough for Caston who allowed just four hits and two walks.
The Hornets are back in action on Saturday when they take on Wayne State at 4 p.m. and Concordia-St. Paul at 8 p.m.
