February 15, 2014-Emporia State's Andrea Piezuch hit a three run walk off home run against Southwestern Oklahoma to cap a two win day at the UAM 8 State Classic in Bentonville, Ark. on Saturday.  The Hornets defeated the Bulldogs 9-6 after taking an 8-3 win over Henderson State earlier in the day.

Taylor Reichard hit a grand slam to lead the Hornets in the matinee win against the Reddies. Jacie Stephens was two for three with a run, an RBI, a double and a triple.  Kaitlyn Caston picked up her fourth win allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

The Hornets trailed 4-0 and 6-2 in the nightcap before plating seven runs in their last two innings.  Trailing 6-4 headed into the bottom of the seventh Sydney Owens, Tricia Vogel and Stephanie Goodwin all reached by errors to load the bases.  Laura Seeman hit a sac fly that was dropped by the right fielder to allow one run.  Stephens then hit another sac fly that tied the score at six.  Piezuch then won it with her three run homer.

Piezuch was three for four with three RBI, two runs, a double and a home run, while Stephens was three for three with two runs scored. Caston got the win in relief.

Emporia State will wrap up the six game, three day tourney on Sunday against UMSL and Quincy.  First pitch against UMSL is set for 9:30 a.m.
