HORNETS FINISH HOME STAND WITH SUNDAY MATINEE
Emporia State will play the final match of a six-match home stand Sunday with a 2:00 p.m. match against MIAA opponent Fort Hays State. The two Kansas teams will be playing for just the fourth time since the Tigers joined the league in 2011. The Hornets are 3-1-1 in the five matches played at the Emporia HS Pitch during this stretch of home matches.

LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State lost 2-0 to Nebraksa-Kearney Saturday afternoon. The Lopers got two first half goals from Montanna Hosterman. Hornets goal keeper Yadira Rivera made eight saves. Each team took 21 shots in the Saturday matinee

THE COACHES
Bryan Sailer is 12-25-8 in his third season at Emporia State and ranks No. 2 on the Hornets all time win list for Women's Soccer coaches. Prior to coming to ESU he led Barton County Community College to a 59-23-2 overall record in four seasons. He led them to the KJCAA Championships during the 2008 season and was named Jayhawk Conference Coach of the Year after guiding Barton to an 18-4 record. He is 0-2-1 against theTigers.
Craig Shaw enters his third season has head coach at Fort Hays State. He currently has a coaching record of 24-24-3 at FHSU. He is 2-0-1 against the Hornets.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
The Hornets are 5-4-1 after dropping a 2-0 match against Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. The Hornets are 1-0-1 against nationally ranked teams this season. Emporia State upset #19 Regis 2-1 in double overtime earlier in the season. The Hornets then played #5 ranked Central Missouri to a 0-0 tie in double overtime. The win over Regis was the first victory over a nationally ranked team in the history of the program. Tommi Bouknight leads the team in shots and shots on goal with 18 and 14.

KNOW THE FOE
The Tigers are 4-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the MIAA. Fort Hays State is coming off a 2-1 MIAA loss to Washburn. Dani Harris and Jordan Hester each have scored three goals for the Tigers.

LAST TIME VS. FORT HAYS STATE
The Tigers scored twice in the second half to defeat the Hornets in the two team's lone match-up of 2012 contested on September 30, 2012. Sade Humphrey and Ember Albertson scored the two Tiger goals.

SERIES RECORD
Fort Hays State and Emporia State first met in 2011. The Tigers lead the all-time series 2-0-1.

UP NEXT
The Hornets will play a road match at Northwest Missouri in their next action scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 11 in Maryville, Mo. The Hornets will play four straight matches on the road before their final regular season home match on Oct. 27, against Missouri Southern.
